Following the cold and rain of the past winter it’s now getting close to a time that one can spend preparing the Drascombe ready for a 2025 summer of sailing. However, with the age of these craft now catching up, the passage of time takes its toll on the fabric and structure of the boat. It’s not just the aspect of poor maintenance or neglect, it’s realistically just that annoying thing … TIME
So with an early start now, get its cover off, power wash her off and take a good look at the fundamentals and the structural aspects of the boat. As I prepare my own boats out in the Ionian Sea I set myself a general check list to work through. It’s better to do this now than to scramble at the last minute in May when one wants to get on the water.
