Welcome to summer 2025 season for clients new and those returning to join me again in the South Ionian Sea for a sailing holiday of ‘Luggering About In The Sun’.
Our New video above outlines what a Dragon Drascombe Lugger charter with apartment is all about. It’s the freedom and diversity of sailing these iconic Luggers from a land-based apartment or villa set in the delightful Vlycho Bay.
Even if your sailing group is new to small boats and dinghy sailing, with my introductory session and a short sail tuition program you will be ready to explore the Meganissi sailing area with support and advice, and backup from our safety boat. It’s the start of your Lugger sailing adventure.
For Drascombe owners and experienced dinghy sailers this is the chance to day sail from your apartment base to the closest island of Meganissi, or head further south to the south coast of Lefkada or even to Ithica for an island adventure.
Our new batten roached sails with the larger Genoa headsail are available at no additional cost for experienced crews. These new sails come into their own in this area where the winds can be light, so why not book now and give them a try.
There is still availability for the following Apartment, Lugger and taxi transfer packages.
- 24 to 31 May at Geni Garden in a sea-facing apartment overlooking Vlycho Bay. For 2/3 persons for one week this package starts at £1810
- 28 May to 4 June at Geni Garden, detail as above, the cost will start at £1920
- For the Athesis apartments, with a berth on the Eucalyptus pontoon, as mentioned in our new video. There are packages which commence on Saturdays, Sundays or Tuesdays and for 2 persons these packages start at £1880
- Dragon Drascombe sailers to Vlycho Bay will know well The Gialos Taverna and Apartments, a great venue to stay at in 2-person apartments, and one of the best Tavernas to dine at in the bay. There are Apartment, Lugger and transfer packages starting at £1700
- 31 August to 7 September based at Geni Garden in a 4-bed large family apartment with a sea facing balcony and ideal for a family or two couples. This package starts at £2450
- Sail Training for beginners in groups of 2 with a maximum of 4 if with young adults. To be programmed from 24 to 31 May and 28 May to 4th June, based at the Geni Garden Apartment. It is one-to-one tuition with later time during the week to explore the nearby Meganissi channel and island with full support from my on water safety boat. The South Ionian Sea is just ideal to explore during September and through to October. The sea temperature is still very good and with air temperatures dropping from the highs of August, it’s still at around 28°, great to be on the water and in the evenings wonderful for eating out. The main tourist season is slowing over this period which is good yet all the local facilities are still open. So, why not book now a late summer sailing visit to Dragon Drascombe out in the Ionian islands.
