We have teamed up with Simon and Lucy of Get Active Lefkas, the highly rated biking and hiking company at Nidri, so there are now even more opportunities to try something different.
Lucy writes “Lefkas Island, in particular the south eastern shore at Geni / Nidri Bay, is an adventurer’s playground. It makes a superb destination for the sailing-oriented groups and families, whilst for those who wish to wander and explore the inland villages and soak up the traditional Greek atmosphere, culture and cuisine, there is not a better experience, a great relaxing and quiet area. For active families and groups, the area boasts a relatively undiscovered inland mountainous terrain, with single track trails which meander through heavily wooded slopes and olive groves.”
From your Geni Garden family apartment, the Villa Eleanor or the Cottage Katerina you can experience the sheer joy of sailing out into the Meganissi Channel to visit a cove and anchor off for a swim and lunch, returning in the afternoon to enjoy the shade of the garden for a relaxing few hours. But for the kids it’s not finished yet, as there now awaits their late afternoon activities.
Simon from Get Active will be able to accommodate all levels of fitness and ages, from low level through to advanced trail rides. For the introductory family groups they start with a ride through the olive groves to Nidri waterfall, a stunning natural landscape and a great afternoon out with your family.
This past July, the family Inglis took part in an intermediate evening ride, brave mum Ceiran accompanied her son Gabriel for a truly exciting steep trail experience. They were very impressed with the superb, well-maintained bikes and professional guidance. Do take a look at the review by Mike Inglis on our website.
For those with a high level of fitness and skills and a zest for action, Simon is able to focus on a more strenuous series of trail rides, up to an Advanced stage, great fun and not to be missed for serious cyclists. Why not give it a try!
For those who don’t like the idea of a long hill climb, they also offer an Uplift service where you get driven to the top of the island and can coast downhill for the rest of the day.
And if you just want to do your own thing, they offer road and mountain bike rental.
