Whilst my weekly / 10 day charter with apartment packages are running as normal, for this summer I have also introduced day sailing and sail training tuition at my base pontoon, the Eucalyptus, for families and groups that have their own accommodation/holiday packages.
The duration of the Sail Training for beginners or as a refresher for lapsed sailors will be a minimum of 3 days. This will be split into morning and afternoon periods with on-board tuition.
For a boat group of 2 and maximum 4 persons for a 3 day package, this including young adults, the cost for boat charter, tuition and fuel will be £1350, including local taxes and VAT.
For couples or families with sound previous sailing experience I can offer day charter for a minimum of 3 days, with the boat based each night on the Eucalyptus Pontoon. They will have a morning of introduction to the boat and its rigging, but it is essential that at least one crew member is familiar with the safe operation of an outboard engine; this is a paramount criterion. This 3-day charter, which includes all fuel for the outboard, will cost £900 including taxes.

As a start to my sail training and introduction to the Drascombe Lugger on 18 June, I met up with Yiogos who is a yacht skipper based in Lefkas, and 2 of his colleagues Eva and Dominic who are very much novices in regards to dinghy sailing. We initially met up at the Athesis for a quick introduction to the boat and the aims of the sail training.
This first day was meant as a ‘Taster’ and covered the starting and operating of the outboard engine, rigging the 3 sails and in the afternoon a sail out in the Meganissi channel.
The day proved to be very successful with both girls wanting to return in their next free time to continue. From the ease of departing and returning to a beam-to pontoon and sailing in such a spacious open sea area, it’s ideal for the Lugger.
Why not come for a Taster / introduction to sailing, in particular sailing this unique Drascombe boat if you are on vacation on Lefkada.
